What kind of BJJ do we offer?

We focus on no-gi grappling rather than gi training. That means takedowns, positional control, escapes, guard work, and submissions without the kimono. The names blur together. No-gi jiu-jitsu, submission grappling, and BJJ all point at roughly the same thing here. What matters is that we train without the kimono.

If you want traditional belt-driven gi classes, this may not be the right room. If you want practical no-gi training that still feels very relevant to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it probably is.

Who trains here?

We welcome beginners, experienced grapplers, expats, and visitors. Classes are adult-focused and taught in English. The room is serious about training, but not macho or intimidating.

That mix matters. Most people who walk in want one of three things. A comfortable place to start, somewhere to drop in for a week, or a room that works when your Portuguese is not fluent. All three work here.
